Our School

At Ingrid School, we believe that every child deserves the right to dream, to learn, and to thrive.

Our Reason

In the middle of Matopeni, where life is often defined by struggle and survival, stands a place that tells a different story – Ingrid School.

Here, over 310 children find more than lessons; they find belonging. They find teachers who know their names, who believe in their potential, and who walk with them through every step of their journey. For many, Ingrid is the first place where someone has ever told them, “You can.”

Since 2005, we have opened our doors to children who might otherwise be forgotten—orphans, vulnerable children, and those from families with little means but great dreams. What began with just 27 learners has blossomed into a thriving community that now offers kindergarten, primary, and junior secondary education.

But Ingrid is not just about academics. We believe that learning happens best when children feel safe, cared for, and nourished. That is why we provide two meals every day, school uniforms, and the support they need to stay in school. For some of our learners, these meals are the only ones they will have all day. For others, the uniform is their first-ever sense of pride and dignity.
